Newly renovated property, very comfortable and with everything new.

Great location, in front of Largo do Machado square and metro, with plenty of shops nearby, bars, restaurants, supermarkets, etc. Easy access to transport to other neighborhoods and the beach. With a view of Christ in the background.
We recommend using the Google Maps app to get around the city, where you can find useful addresses such as pharmacies, parking lots, hospitals, markets, restaurants and even entertainment recommendations.
To use public transport, use the 'Moovit' app, which shows you the lines and stations where you can get on and off to reach your destination.
If you prioritize safety and convenience, Uber and 99 app cars work well. Conventional taxis tend to be more expensive, but also safer.

The apartment complex was safe and well managed. The porter’s were helpful and pleasant. Location was very good midway from the city centre and the beaches. The area was typically Rio. The square in front of the apartment was lively holding 2 weekly markets selling foods. Metro on the square was easy to use and plenty of shops at hand.

Spent an excellent three weeks at this apartment on Largo da Machado. Just as listed, and located in a lovely art deco building that is very safe and boasts a friendly team of porters and receptionists working 24/7. It is suitable for business and leisure trips, with good wifi. Location is convenient for getting around Rio with the city's excellent metro serving the beach areas of Copacabana and Ipanema, with city centre in other direction. Plentiful taxis, and the square is one of the starting points for official tours of Corcovado. Area well served with good supermarkets, bars and restaurants. The square is busy, but that is part of its charm, with a fruit market twice a week, and other arts and crafts the rest of the week. Being an old building, ceilings are high, keeping the apartment cool. While there is air conditioning, I never had to put it on. The team at HomeRio were perfect hosts and kept in touch throughout. Check-in very simple as a key pad. Would certainly return.

The house is cozy, comfortable and in a perfect location for us. Rafaella is also very responsive and check-in is very easy.

Completely new apartments in the old building. Everything is fresh and shining. Spacious and well equipped. Super safe building with a consierge. The only small thing for us were that the bed was a little small for two. All the other stuff was perfect, including our host Eduardo

Great place, looks even better than on the pictures. Spacious, newly renovated, bright and well equipped. The host is super responsive and helpful. The place is 2mn walk to a metro station. From there its easy to go around and visit the touristy points. Loved the neighborhood, lively with lots of restaurants, supermarkets and felt safe. Only downside is the tuesday morning market right by the building, early and noisy but its only once a week! Even a nice little view on the Corcovado from the window to remind you all the time that you are in the cidade maravilhosa :) I will definitely come back.

Sou de SP e na minha primeira vez visitando o Rio com a minha esposa não poderia ter escolhido uma localização melhor: a poucos metros do metrô com fácil acesso ao centro e às principais praias; muitos bares e restaurantes espalhados pelo bairro que funcionam até tarde e trazem uma sensação de segurança mesmo durante a noite; bem de frente pro largo do Machado com muitas árvores e dependendo da direção que olha, com vista pro Cristo.
Existe a possibilidade de nos mudarmos pro Rio então queríamos pegar um apartamento ao invés de um hotel ou estúdio pra sentir o máximo possível como é um prédio residencial na região, e o apartamento da Rafaella contribui à uma imagem muito positiva que tivemos do Rio.
Notamos dois pontos negativos, que o chão tinha bastante poeira, mas como havia aspirador de pó disponível resolvi facilmente, e que bom em frente ao prédio é onde alguns restaurantes em volta deixam o lixo, então às vezes entra mal cheiro pela janela. Fora isso, tudo perfeito!

O local é muito perto do metro, de frente para o largo do machado. Pé direito bem alto, apartamento fresco, ar condicionado funciona bem. Passamos o carnaval e foi ótimo para curtir o agito.
